2014 Alliance Director Annual Conference Was Held in Jinan

On Oct. 26th, 2014 China steel pipe and cold roll formed steel tooling industry technology innovation strategic alliance（as below The Alliance）director annual conference was held in Jinan. Leaders, experts from Jinan High-Tech Zone administrative office, Jinan Economic and Information Technology Committee, China Iron and Steel Association, the Chinese Society for Metals, China Industry-University Research Institute Collaboration Association, Pipe Branch of China Steel Construction Society etc. and alliance representatives from alliance member units attended the conference.

The Alliance was issued by more than 20 domestic units in 2013, covers each key process of production, university, research and customer in steel pipe and cold roll formed steel industry.

Yuan Houzhi, president of the Alliance, also president of Shandong Sifang said, the proposition how the alliance develops, is also an innovation. As one of the Alliance member units, Shandong Sifang make great progress in exchanging international market with independent technology,  SMS-MEER and Shandong Sifang signed a nine sets large-scale ERW welding pipe contract, including a thousand of accessories. The rolls ordered are accessories of the complete sets of welding pipe equipment designed by SMS-MEER for Gazprom, which will used for Russian gas pipeline transnational construction project. At present, Sifang finished all the rolls according to the SMS-MEER standard requirements and delivered in advance.

Shandong Sifang undertakes the drafting work of “Welded Pipe Roll” national standards and “Cold Roll Formed Steel” industry standard. 80% of experts on the audition of the first standard are from the Alliance Experts Committee and the Alliance member units, which reflects the important role and effects of the Alliance in the tooling field of steel pipe and cold roll formed steel.

The conference clarified next work direction of the Alliance which will start to work with three overall goals: (1) To raise innovation ability and technology level of the whole industry; (2) All units participated in the Alliance share the achievements, raise the benefits, form a win-win pattern; (3) Individuals participated in the Alliance gain what they deserve.
